A New Light
twinkles – how people, places and things shine and share happiness
winks – little hints from life lighting the way toward one’s happiest path
Some folks thrive on the drama. They live for the next crisis. They can’t seem to enjoy what’s going on right now and instead worry about the next big thing, be it good/bad or happy/sad.
So here’s today’s Twinkle Tip: don’t feed the flames. Misery loves company and knowingly or unknowingly wants to whack you into Grumpland, too.
When Drama Diva calls you in a tizzy, look for a glimmer of a twinkle in the situ and share it. When Crisis City shows up at your door, listen and nod and just parrot back what they’ve said to you.
Because some folks SAY they wanna drop the drama but don’t do a damn thing to retrain their brains to reframe and choose joy. Because some folks SAY they wanna crush the crisis, but don’t do a damn thing to stay calm and carry on.
Every dollop or drama, each cup of crisis gives you a chance to cook up a fresh batch of looking at life in a new light.
Learn to look for twinkles in each and every situation. And life then lends more twinkles, leading you right to your happy.
Straight Up and Right
If you like touchy-feely, this won’t be your up.
If you want a hand to hold, this won’t be your cup.
If you need sugar coats, this just won’t be your deal.
If you dig balls of mush, this you just won’t feel.
It’s candid and quirky and more sassy than sweet.
It’s bold and it’s brash and knocks you off your feet.
It’s true and it’s tough and comes from a good spot.
It works and it helps but for thin-skinned it’s not.
'Cuz excuses are lame and excuses are dumb.
'Cuz life is what you make it if you let the good come.
'Cuz finding the good and following the light
Is how Twinkles & Winks guides straight up and right.

Whip It Out
Sometimes you have to seek out the twinkles.
Sometimes you have to whip out a flippin’
magnifying glass to possibly manage to find any resemblance of a twinkle.
Sometimes you have to scream into pillow to
release the rage of the worst day of all time before being able to even have any darn interest in noticing those stupid twinkles.
Sometimes you have to wait out that worst day of
all time and do your best to at least not make anyone else’s day shitty and cry yourself to sleep atop aforementioned screaming pillow.
And that’s okay…for a day.
Then you have to start over. Take a sec to think about what made that the worst day ever. And think about one good thing that happened on the worst day ever. And think about some way maybe you could have whipped out that flippin’ magnifying glass to discover some teeny
tiny weeny whiny bit of twinkle.
Because a little light invites a little more light in. And a bunch of little light adds up to a bunch of big light eventually. Keep looking. Keep learning. Keep on keepin’ on.
